thanks, much appreciated, been checking here daily since its release… but .m4b doesn’t play well w/ android sometimes. (”smart audiobook player” for one, but only sometimes.)
I tend to just rename everything I run through it as “*.mp3″, but this can get problematic for collections and such, obviously. it always works to get it in the library after a refresh though.

as far as i know m4b is only a problem for very very old android devices, like android 2.3 or less.

To h3rm35, my Android devices are recent and I find Smart Audiobook Reader does choke on the odd file. It is still my favorite AB app but I use Listen Audiobook Reader as a backup … not sure it is free or not, but the two apps between them play all files and Listen is a fast, lightweight app.
I remenber payimg 1.99 lifetime license but when I checked in Google Play it didn’t list a price.

Regarding .m4b files, try Voice Audiobook or Simple Audiobook Player. I’ve tried dozens, paid for dozens, and Voice is my favorite. Note that VLC will play .m4b files too.

Try free program Inaudible. It will convert to MP3 and break them into chapters if the files are encoded otherwise one large MP3 file. Works a treat and have never had a problem with it.

If your smart device is having a hard time playing m4b rename it m4a it should work.
