ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Robert Dennis Harris (born 7 March 1957) is an English novelist. He is a former journalist and BBC television reporter. Although he began his career in non-fiction, his fame rests upon his works of historical fiction.
He is the author of ten bestselling novels: the Cicero Trilogy - Imperium, Lustrum and Dictator - Fatherland, Enigma, Archangel, Pompeii, The Ghost, The Fear Index, and An Officer and a Spy, which won four prizes including the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction. Several of his books have been filmed, most recently The Ghost, which was directed by Roman Polanski. His work has been translated into thirty-seven languages and he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. He lives in West Berkshire with his wife, Gill Hornby.

ABOUT THE READER
Stephen Thorne trained at RADA and has appeared with the Old Vic Company and the RSC. He has over 2000 radio broadcasts to his credit, including Radio 4’s Uncle Mort, while his TV work includes Crossroads, Z-Cars, EastEnders, Doctor Who (as several monsters!), Death of an Expert Witness, David Copperfield and Boys from the Bush. He was the voice of Aslan in the award-winning cartoon of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, and has recorded more than 300 unabridged audio books.
