I had not heard of this book. It sounds like the kind of story that someone will want to turn into a movie, but the movie bombs, tanking the hopes of the male lead to become a movie star, and is completely forgotten 36 years later.

This IS a great find! Way back when, I was infatuated with Die Hard and went looking for this book, and found it in 1990. Fun fact: the movie was originally pitched to Frank Sinatra (he had been ‘The Detective’, the author’s previous book), but he declined. No spoilers, but the book differs from the movie in a few small, but crucial ways…

Could you please also upload the NLS version of Pet Sematary? There is a crappy copy floating around for years but it’s barely listenable.

I just started listening to the intro and I was stunned to hear that this book is a sequel to another called ‘The Detective’ by Thorp.
Is this another Leland novel?
Anyone have it, if its in audio format?

The only other book I could find for this author is Rainbow Drive, which is also from the NLS (read by Robert Donley, 17h53m). I haven’t started the recording process for that book yet.
