I prefer the smaller, and will probably use it in a whole-series torrent upload in the near future if no one gets to it first.
If it were a music torrent, maybe I’d care, but for an AB? Smaller is usually better, even when it comes to Graphic Audio and the like.

Thanks for the smaller file. 64 Kbps is the sweet spot for size vs quality. I always re-encode high rate MP3’s to 64, but don’t know how to do it for M4B’s.

64kbps is really nice so long as it’s a True Decrypt:) For re-coded files, it’s hard to say.

Thank you to both who posted this final chapter. 64kb, will not alter the beauty of Jefferson May’s Amos Burton, not one bit. This is lovely. And we need to be kind to each other up in here. (never visit political postings, it’s scary in there.)

I used to use Mort. It was a good app. I don’t think that it plays m4b files though. You could try another app, or convert the m4b file to mp3, or download the mp3 version of this book.

Full cast with FX and musíc audiobooks sound surprisingly good at 48kbps …. Recommended codec: lc-hevc V2.
For single voice books.. 24kbps is absolutely fine on codec:opus (quality 10)

I’ve found that many players will find a book it was having trouble with if you just change the file extension from .m4b to .mp3, no re-coding necessary.
