This is one of those absolute jewels of a novel which, once read, you can never forget.
I’ve never tried it as an audiobook before (I imagine it transforms the story to an unusual degree), but I anticipate - and partly dread - the experience.

A good version of James Joyce’s favorite novel! If interested, compare with the Frank Muller version. @pryderi is absolutely correct, it does transform the experience. I liked better read than heard.

You’re welcome! Yes, this is a fascinating, great novel, with the ultimate unreliable narrator. I was originally recommended this book because of its opening sentence. I haven’t listened to it, but I was interested in it as an audiobook because of the first-person narrative.

Donleavy, this is from Audible. I don’t know if Audible ever does chaptered versions, but they’re always one file when I download them. I use mp3splt-gtk (I think that’s what it’s called) to break mp3 files into smaller sections for my own listening.
